Panchatantra

Compiled by Pandit Vishnusharma to educate and enlighten the foolish and dim-witted sons of the King Amarashakti, the Panchatantra contains many tales of wisdom, written in the manner of tales within tales. Pandit Vishnusharma is said to have divided the tales into five (pancha) sections, each one dealing with ways and strategies (tantras) to live and prosper in the world.
