Hi everyone, my name is Jiya Shah. I am 7 years old. I am in 2nd standard studying at EuroSchool Kharadi Pune. Today, I am here to share an incident that taught me the 'Importance of Kindness'. This personal story on 'Kindness' is my entry to the Getlit Story Telling Competition. One day, I was playing with my friends in the park. I noticed an old lady restless and worried. I went upto her to ask if she needed any help. The old lady had lost her spectacles and was not able to find it. I called my friends and we all together started searching for it. I was able to find it on a bench where she was sitting before. She was very happy, thanked and blessed us wholeheartedly. Never had I expected this small deed of kindness was going to come back to me someday. A few weeks later while I was playing in the park, I slipped and had a fall. To my surprise the same old lady happened to be there in the park that day, who immediately came to my help. She gave me water, calmed me down and helped clean the wound on my knee. She also helped me reach home safely. That reminded me of what my Mom always told me, 'You Reap What You Sow.' When we be kind to others, help others you too will receive kindness and help in return. So my dear friends, let's pledge together to be kind to everyone around us, everyday. Thank you 🤗
