Important Instructions
- International GetLitt! Reading Olympiad (IGRO) is open to students from Grades 2 to 8. Students from all Boards are eligible to participate. IGRO will be conducted online and students can appear for it from their homes.
- The purpose of IGRO is to promote reading among children. It is to help children discover diverse stories and to get them excited on the path of reading.

- Students can register directly at www.getlitt.co/ro/register
- Since IGRO will be conducted Online, students will receive their login credentials like nickname, password, and exam link on the registered email ID and mobile number.
Registration Fees (India):
- Students within India will pay a mandatory registration fee of Rs 150/- (+18% GST)
- They can pay an additional Book access fee (non-mandatory) of Rs 450/-(+18% GST) to get reading access to the International GetLitt! Reading Olympiad (IGRO) Books list on GetLitt! platform.
- This will provide them with 3 months’ access to 100 book reads. Note: These are e-books available on GetLitt!
- As an alternative to paying an additional Rs 450/- for accessing IGRO Booklist on GetLitt! platform, students can purchase physical copies of the book titles that are part of IGRO Booklist from any local bookstore. Sourcing of physical copies of the books then will be the responsibility of the student.
Registration Fees (Outside India):
- Students outside India will pay mandatory registration fees of USD 5
- They can pay additional Book access fees (non-mandatory) of USD 15 to get reading access to International GetLitt! Reading Olympiad (IGRO) Book list on GetLitt! platform.
- This will provide them with 3 months’ access to 100 book reads. Note: These are e-books available on GetLitt!
- As an alternative to paying an additional USD 15 for access to IGRO Booklist on GetLitt! platform, students can purchase physical copies of the book titles that are part of IGRO Booklist from any local bookstore. Sourcing of physical copies of the books then will be the responsibility of the student.
Dates of IGRO for various grades:
- 15th Jan 2024 (Monday) - Grades 6, 7 & 8
- 17th Jan 2024 (Wednesday) - Grades 4 & 5
- 19th Jan 2024 (Friday) - Grades 2 & 3
Timings: Students can Sign in anytime between 8:30 am to 7:30 pm IST on www.getlitt.co (website on Laptop or Desktop)
Format of the exam
- 1. The Question Paper will contain multiple-choice questions from all the books in the Grade specific reading list. Children will have to answer all the questions for the books specified for their Grade.
- 2. Each grade has been given a prescribed reading list.
- Grades 2 and 3 have to read ALL 8 books from the reading list.
- Grades 4 and 5 have to read ALL 5 books from the reading list.
- Grades 6, 7 and 8 have to read ALL 4 books from the reading list.
- Students can start reading (either on GetLitt! or physical copies) as soon as their registration is done.
- 3. Each book will have a set of questions covering:
- Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Book dares (book trivia) and Achiever’s questions
- Each achiever’s question carries 4 points and the other questions carry 2 points each.
- 4. Grades 2 & 3 will have a total of 32 questions to answer - 4 questions per book (3 Standard questions + 1 Achiever’s question). Standard question carries 2 points and Achiever’s question carries 4 points. The time duration for the test will be 60 minutes.
- 5. Grades 4 & 5 will have a total of 35 questions to answer - 7 questions per book (5 Standard questions + 2 Achiever’s questions). Standard question carries 2 points and Achiever’s question carries 4 points. The time duration for the test will be 45 minutes.
- 6. Grades 6, 7 & 8 will have a total of 40 questions to answer - 10 questions per book (7 Standard questions + 3 Achiever’s questions). Standard question carries 2 points and Achiever’s question carries 4 points. The time duration for the test will be 45 minutes.
- 7. There will be separate question papers for each grade based on the respective reading list.
- 8. The medium of the test will be English.
- 9. Weightage will be given to the time taken to complete the test. In case of a tie in the marks, the student who has completed the test in a lesser amount of time will get a higher rank.
System Requirement
- Before taking the online test the student needs to keep their system (Laptop or Desktop) ready and updated. Following checklist will help:
- 1. Students should take the exam on a laptop or desktop.
- 2. Platform and test will require a network speed of a minimum of 10mbps. Students can check the speed on www.speedtest.net
- 3. The browser version should be updated. The ideal browser for this purpose is Chrome.
- 4. If mobile data is being used by the student, then:
- · Make sure that they have a strong & consistent network reception
- · Should disable app notifications
- 5. Make sure all browser windows are closed. Keep only the GetLitt! window open.
- 6. Students have the sole responsibility of keeping their system ready as defined above.
Before the exam:
- All students registered for the exam will receive the following access credentials:
- Student id (IGRO Nickname): [..]
- IGRO Password: [….]
- Both will be provided to every child specifically for the International GetLitt! Reading Olympiad (and is NOT the same as created by the child while creating an account on GetLitt!)
- Olympiad can be attempted anytime between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm IST
On the day of the exam:
- Step 1: Go to https://ro.getlitt.co/login (from Laptop or Desktop – DO NOT Access through a mobile phone or Tablet browser) – This link will be active on the day of the Olympiad.
- Step 2: Fill up the Student ID (IGRO nickname) and password as mentioned above.
- Note: These CANNOT be changed and are specific to this Olympiad.
- Step 3: Once signed in, click on the Grade-specific Reading Olympiad.
- The system will validate your account.
- Step 4: Read the instructions. Tick the bottom left checkbox & click on Next to start.
- The test will open in full-screen mode. If you exit the Full-screen mode, the test will stop.
- Note: Students should make sure that the support@getlitt.co is saved at their end so that GetLitt! emails don’t end in their junk folder.

- Cash prize, Certificate & Medal of Reading Brilliance to Top rank holders of each grade
- If two students have the same score then the Rank will be calculated on the basis of the least time taken to complete the test.
AT SCHOOL LEVEL - INDIA
- Certificate & Medal of Reading Excellence to Grade Toppers at School level
- School “Medal of Reading Excellence“ to the top 3 rank holders per grade will be awarded under the following conditions:
- 1. Minimum 20 registrations/grade/school should have been received.
- 2. Students should have scored more than 80%
- Certificate of Achievement to students who have scored more than 80%
- Certificate of participation to all students
- Note: If a child has won more than one Certificate or Medal then they will receive the higher level Certificate & Medal

- Certificate of Reading Brilliance to Top rank holders of each grade

- 2. Students should have scored more than 80%
- Certificate of Achievement to students who have scored more than 80%
- Certificate of participation to all students
- Note: If a child has won more than one Certificate or Medal then they will receive the higher level Certificate & Medal
- All certificates will be e-certificates.

Criteria: Highest participation in terms of percentage of registered students to total student strength across ALL grades from 2 to 8
Most Motivating Librarian
Will be awarded to librarians based on the path-breaking work done by them to inculcate the habit of reading and to promote the culture of reading at their schools.
